  Jesus was teaching that in God’s kingdom, things won’t always happen the way people expect. “The last shall be first” means that some people who seem unimportant, poor, or left behind in this world — those who humble themselves and truly follow God — will be honored first in heaven. “The first shall be last” means that some people who appear important, powerful, or religious on earth — but are proud or reject God — will be put last or even left out of God’s kingdom. 💡 In Other Words: God doesn’t judge by position, fame, or wealth , but by the heart .
